ASBURY PARK -- For the second year, Fine art Star founders Erin Waxman and Megan Brewster aim to testify that dwelling house truly is where the art is in their quirky and beautiful bazaar.

"We were looking for venues to sell our work and not finding too many places that fit our style," Waxman said. "And then after talking near possibly opening up a space, we opened upwards Art Star in 2004, on a very very very small calibration."

While they have a year-round 'brick n mortar' bazaar and gallery, the ladies began annual bazaars in Philadelphia, most Northern Liberties. While Waxman and Brewster have feel mastering private crafts, however they now care for the boutique equally their sole project.

Patience proved to be next step for success, as yr by year there was a "very nice, slow progression," in the amount of vendors that came to the venue, according to Waxman.

"For me, the event is like attending a weekend festival, but instead of music, it'due south the world of handmade," said Melissa McCullough, the creator of the brand "Popped Stitches" which offers products centered around cross-stitching and embroidery needlework. McCullough has been a vendor at various of Art Star's arts and crafts shows throughout the past 3 years, and she says every time she is accepted into the show, information technology is an emotional feel.

"It's a reaffirmation that what I'k doing is hitting the correct note. The handmade business can be lonely, so even if I beloved something I've created, information technology's wonderful knowing that others are appreciative of information technology, as well," she McCullough, adding that vendors she has met throughout the years have become cherished friends and colleagues.

After receiving great feedback, the co-owners looked to expand their piece of work to new audiences.

With the help of Move for  Hunger, Fine art Craft Star created an Asbury Park bazaar as a sister event that pairs with the annual Penn's Landing Fine art Craft Bazaar. Last year at that place were about 40 vendors, and this year there are more 50 in attendance.
